We can never "get" anyone's Love, we can only offer our Love. Love, though not ever "gotten," can be received. Love is always an Invitation, never an intrusion, a demand, a command - always an offer to Share, in mutual gladness. "Will you share with me?"

In a dream, I saw a woman I was in a relationship with and me. We were walking out of a white-framed church building, much like many of the small chapels one sees in the rural areas of the Deep South, USA, where she and I were raised. A line of other persons were going up sidesteps, and entering the sanctuary, when she and I were leaving.
This dream occurred about 20 years ago, when I was in struggle with major inner shifts religiously and spiritually. Something much larger than what I had been taught was struggling to be lived. This was painful, the pressure of that Life pressing Itself out, defying resistance. I could repress It, but not escape It. I could only get temporary relief.
I did leave the "church" of my upbringing. I did, partly as consequence, lose the relationship. I, also, for a time, lost my emotional and physical health. I had to choose, in one moment, either to commit suicide, or choose Life. Such is the Life-Force of Love, and its tenacious plea within us, and Its refusal to surrender us to the anti-Love forces within and about us. We are loved, infinitely, Compassionately.

In many ways, I left the "church." The journey took about 20 years. Slowly, the Power of Love captivated me and slowly, little by little, surrendered me. I yielded to trust, not fear, being plunged into the unknown. And, finally, I discovered Bliss.
I no longer attend a "church," not in any sense as I once did. And, ironically, I re-discovered being in Love with the One whom my heart beats for, aches for, and enjoys intimacy with. His blood, indeed, flows in my veins. One called Jesus. He is no longer a church Jesus, a religious Jesus, or a christian Jesus. Indeed, I am not sure who He was and is. I feel Him, I Love Him, I adore Him.
I feel no need that anyone find Jesus as the Way to Spirit. This is my Friend. Other persons are given other Paths. Regardless, this Larger Love burning inside, pressing to be Lived, is to be lived. And in saying "Yes," our lives cannot and will not be the same, ever again. With "Yes," everything does change, and will keep changing. We are led into ever-more-unknown depths of Grace. Amen.
